FROM THE DEVELOPER

A solo project built on decades of tech experience.
I’ve spent my career in tech support and programming, often working within the high-stakes environment of legal and regulatory data management. I built Mako List because I saw a need for a tool that respects the user's time and privacy without the unnecessary "noise" of modern apps.

The Philosophy
Mako List is a tool to unencumber you. It is designed for smart people who need to capture information instantly and move on. No cloud requirements, no tracking, and no subscriptions.

1.The Agreement :  By using Mako List, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

2. Your Data, Your ownership :  You own everything you create. Your lists, tasks, and notes are your property. MakoList is designed so that we never have access to your data. Even if you choose to enable the optional Google Backup service, your data is encrypted and stored within your personal Google account. We cannot see, share, or sell your information because we cannot access it.

3. Our Property :  ​The "Mako List" name, the logo, and the code under the hood belong to us. You are granted a license to use the app for your personal lists, but you may not decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to sell the software as your own.

4. ​The "As-Is" Rule : Mako List was designed to be fast, stable, and reliable. However, the app is provided "as-is." We cannot guarantee it will be 100% error-free, and we aren't responsible for any data loss or missed deadlines resulting from technical issues.

5. ​Limitation of Liability : To the extent permitted by law, Mako List and its creator are not liable for any damages—financial or otherwise—arising from your use of the app. Your use of the tool is at your own risk.

6. Governing Law : These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA.

7. Changes to Terms : If we update these terms, we will change the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the app means you accept the updated version.
